Amazing Authors, Free AudioBooks

One of my favorite authors, Dr. Nathan Lowell, is on Mastodon. I was surprised to run into him, almost as surprised as seeing another of my favorite long-time authors, Michael A. Stackpole. I keep hoping Jonathan Moeller, Stephen King, Mark Tufo, S.M. Stirling will jump in on the Mastodon fun. We'll see.

One of the things that makes Nathan's books so amazing is that they are GREAT storytelling. And, they were among the first audio books I ever listened to YEARS ago.  It's hard to believe it's been over six years. I still remember taking one of my first long drives with my current employer, and wishing I had something to listen to. What joy it was to stumble across Dr. Lowell's books in audio format on Podiobooks.

A Trader's Tale from the Golden Age of the Solar Clipper : Book 1

When Ishmael Wang is orphaned by a flitter crash, he must make some hard decisions about how to survive in a Company-owned universe. With limited time and fewer options, he lands a job as the newest hand on the Solar Clipper Lois McKendrick and learns there's more to life than making coffee. Join Ish, Pip, Big Bad Bev, and the rest of the Lois McKendrick's crew as they sail the galaxy in search of profitable trade.

When I had a brief exchange with Nathan on Mastodon, I wanted to recapture that early feeling of embarking on a journey across Texas while listening to Ishmael begin his journey in Quarter Share

Although Podiobooks is gone, Scribl picked up the audio and it is still available for listening at no cost.

You can save the MP3 audio files then load them on your device of choice, or listen via a web browser...note the RSS feed or Apple Podcasts link:

Finally, thanks, Scribl!
