Discounted Internet Access for Free Lunch Program Students #comcast
Think this is something students in free lunch programs will go for?

Since several organizations in the San Antonio area provide service to students that are enrolled in free lunch programs, I went ahead and registered for an account but didn't find any information about WHERE this was available...so I called the phone number provided on the flyers and heard a message similar to the one I've transcribed below (I may have paraphrased it a bit):
Affordable home internet, computers, training are available where Comcast offers Internet service, to households that have not subscribed to Comcast within the last 90 days, and households where there is no Comcast bill outstanding or unreturned Comcast equipment.
The italicized parts are the conditions. Obviously, the question is, Does my school or school district address fall somewhere Comcast offers Internet service?
I called 1-800-266-2272, entered a few choices and was put on hold, and after a minute, spoke to Shauna. Unfortunately, Comcast Internet Service isn't offered in San Antonio, Tx. I asked, what part of Texas DOES offer Comcast Internet Service...the only city is Houston.
What's interesting is the availability of downloadable content that you can download...or place an order for if you don't want to print it yourself.
What is nice is that the materials come in Spanish, too:
On an unrelated provider, consider the following:
If you are an education provider, then Mobile Beacon may present an option to obtain free 4G from Clear.com. I've written about this before and I LOVE what Clear has enabled me to do. You can read about my Clear experiences here and here.
