Enlarged Blogging Gland

Pineal Gland- Writing Gland?
If you haven't noticed, I've been in a bit of a slump as the chief blogger at Around the Corner. It pains me to admit, but the dearth of new blog posts forces my hand. This afternoon, as I drove home, I remembered that middle-aged men experience issues, that result in fits-n-starts (those of you with prostate problems know what I am alluding to, although I confess my knowledge of prostates is strictly second-hand..."Keep that finger away, Doc!").

I couldn't help but acknowledge that the stream of blog entries has settled into fits-n-starts, and I wonder what my brain is going through. What gland or valve is throttling my blogging conduit, keeping the entries from flowing.

Could the shortage be a result of too much coffee? Not enough exercise amidst a busy summer? Too much work? Not enough time spent reading other blog entries, but trying to catch the flow of tweets in a cup?

Ah, who knows. Seth probably inspires when he writes:
The goal in blogging/business/inspiring non-fiction is to share a truth, or at least a truth as the writer sees it. To not just share it, but to spread it and to cause change to happen. You can do that in at least three ways: with research (your own or reporting on others), by building and describing conceptual structures, or with stories that resonate...In the words my late friend Isaac Asimov shared with Carl Sagan, "You are my idea of a good writer because you have an unmannered style, and when I read what you write, I hear you talking."
Mayhap, I've forgotten a simple truth--blogging is a conversation with what you read, and since my only reading has been fiction (oh what wonderful tales I've read these past few months), I suspect that my creativity must lean upon the minds of others more brilliant than I, or at least, with less enlarged blogging gland.

Laughing.
