No Silver Lining in iCloud

When I loaded the latest iOS onto an iPad2 that I'm playing around with, the question came up...something along the lines of, "Do you want to use iCloud?" Of course, I said, "No."

In spite of that response, I receive the following email in my inbox....
Welcome to iCloud. The Apple ID for your iCloud account is [removed] and it’s what you’ll use to get your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, and PC set up. Just follow these instructions and you’ll be up and running in no time.
Once iCloud is set up, it stores your content and wirelessly pushes it to all your devices. For example, buy a song with iTunes on your computer, and it will appear on your iPod touch and iPad. When you snap a photo on your iPhone it will automatically be sent to your iPad. You can start creating a Pages document on your iPhone, and put the finishing touches on it from your iPad. There’s no need to dock or sync to your computer. With iCloud, it just works.
Sigh. Let's review Apple. Pay attention this time....
  1. I don't want to setup my iPhone, iPad, etc. with iCloud.
  2. I don't want you to store my content and wirelessly push it to all my devices. *I* want to decide what I have on each of my devices.
  3. I don't want my photos to be automatically sent to my iPad from my non-existent iPhone (perish the thought).
  4. I want to choose what I put on my iPad and how and when I sync, if at all, to my computer.
  5. With iCloud, it DOES NOT work.
Why must Apple ram solutions down our throats, metaphorically speaking?

Hi Miguel,

I have all services for iCloud turned off except for that which will deactivate and locate my device if it is lost or stolen. My son-in-law used this with a stolen iPhone and actually got it back!
