GoogleApps in the Classroom

GoogleApps for Education--with the free Postini Message Security--is certainly spreading in Texas. For example, I've heard of the following Texas districts that are switching (or already have) to GoogleApps for Education to replace their in-district email systems (please let me know of others I've missed):
  1. Chapel Hill ISD
  2. Conroe ISD
  3. White Oak ISD
Other districts are still considering it:
  1. Magnolia ISD
Obviously, these two lists are incomplete! Please leave a comment as an update!

Also, be sure to read the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document on Google Apps in Education.

Thanks to Doug Johnson for a great article in ISTE's Learning and Leading with Technology, as well as two blog entries which share his approach to using GoogleApps for Education in a school district! If only more public school districts were as innovative!

I'm also enjoying watching these videos on using GoogleApps in the Classroom from Dan Rezac:

And, a quick round-up of other stuff out there:

The more districts hesitate to take the plunge, the greater the digital divide for their students and teachers.
