Diane Cordell (Journeys) has a wonderful post about Ants and Bees. I'm going to spoil it for you and share the main idea:
... a bee, which "gathers its material...but transforms and digests it by a power of its own." The transformative power of the web depends on more than just the tools it provides. It requires planning, creativity, flexibility, and a willingness to continuously monitor and adjust expectations.At schools today, do we put up warnings like the one above? Be on guard against bees and creative transformers?
The 21st century requires bees, not ants.
